Much to be proud of

The BMT’s Chairman, Jim Munro, gave an upbeat report to members at the Trust’s AGM on 9th October. He highlighted the many achievements made by the Trust during the past 12 months including:

*the development of a comprehensive 3 year Strategic Plan for the Trust for the first time
*a great new website
*many improvements to the river Wey as it runs through the Meadow especially the installation of a fish ladder and eel passage
*almost complete elimination of ragwort in the hay meadow
*starting the next stage of encouraging local schools involvement in the orchard project
*the re-creation of the wild flower strip along the northern boundary of Oak Meadow – much loved by bees
*three splendid new noticeboards
*and the reduction of our outstanding loan from £75,000 to £50,000

Jim thanked all the many individuals and organisations which have contributed to the work of the Trust with time, effort and money!

Finally he gave those present some thoughts on the future stressing the need for a sound land management plan for the Meadow and the need for continued good governance of the Trust.dscf1740
