What can I do to help the Bishop’s Meadow Trust?

A huge number of people have offered many hours of their time as volunteers to support the work of the Bishop’s Meadow Trust.

We couldn’t achieve what we do without this most valuable support.

If you would like to help, please download our volunteer form here.

The BMT organises several fundraising events each year with a flag day, bridge tea and more.
Could you provide a few hours help on the day of such events or plan a fundraising event with our support?

You can make a donation to the Bishop’s Meadow Trust via our simple online donation tool, Charity Checkout.
To make a donation to the Trust and to help us maintain the Bishop’s Meadow, click here.

Weather permitting, work parties are held on the Meadow most months of the year. It’s a chance to get your hands dirty for a couple of hours doing some physical work to improve the Meadow, with a range of options so everyone can be useful and get involved.
From planting saplings, erecting fences, pulling ragwort, bramble bashing and litter picking – the list goes on. For upcoming work parties click here.
Would you like to become a member of the BMT Board or an advisory member to one of its sub-committees?
The Board welcomes additional expertise in many areas including:
     1. Develop our work in primary schools
     2. Public Relations and communications
     3. Land management and species monitoring

Why become a member?

When you join the Bishop’s Meadow Trust, you are actively contributing to the continuous management and improvement of an important floodplain meadow right in the centre of Farnham.  Floodplain meadows are a declining habitat in the United Kingdom and need preserving for the very special plant and animal wildlife they support.

The Bishop’s Meadow Trust relies on donations.  Without our generous members and supporters we would not be able to work towards our vision of supporting a vital green space in our town for all to enjoy.

“We love walking on the Meadows because we see such wonderful wild flowers and birds – it is a bit of heaven on earth just on our doorstep”

Valerie Fabry

“I feel so lucky to have the beautiful Meadow nearby for walking and jogging, and I volunteer for the Trust working parties to help keep the place special (and it’s a good workout too!).”

Dymphna Evans

You can become a Bishops Meadow Trust member

  • As a member, you are invited to attend the BMT Annual General Meetings to have a voice about the current and future plans for the Meadow; to vote for the election of Directors of the Trust and review activity and financial reports.

There is no minimum cost or donation to be a BMT member – although more is always welcome.  Some of our members donate as little as £10 per year but we suggest any amount you wish to give.  With this money the Trust can continue to reduce its outstanding loan, which we secured to make the final purchase of the Meadow.  Your financial support will also help with the costs of managing and maintaining the Meadow in addition to the fundraising which we carry out. If you would prefer to make a one-off donation, please visit the section “Make a Donation”.
